India’s active cases rose for the 42nd straight day, as an intermittent increase in new infections outpaced single-day recoveries.
The country reported 16,103 new infections and 31 deaths in the last 24-hours, according to an update from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare at 8 a.m. on July 3.
One-day recoveries stood at 13,929.
While the daily positivity rate in the country has now jumped to 4.27%, the current recovery rate stands at 98.54%.
Most of the states throughout the nation haven’t yet made masking mandates mandatory in public areas, during this most recent rise in coronavirus cases.
