23-Year-Old Lexus LS400 With 141k Miles Looks Like It Just Rolled Off The Showroom Floor

The Lexus LS changed the game when it arrived on the scene back in 1989, showing the world that the Germans weren’t the only ones who could build a competent luxury sedan. 23 years on, and this 1999 Lexus LS400 with 141,764 miles (228,147 km) still upholds its reputation as a reliable, luxurious sedan that punches above its weight class.

Despite the car’s age and mileage, it’s been kept in immaculate shape. The paint is almost completely devoid of imperfections, the interior retains its original color and shows hardly any signs of wrinkling, the underbody is flawless and rust-free beyond the surface, and even things like the headlights and taillights are crystal clear as if they had just been replaced. The wheels are also absent of any scrapes or gouges, the engine bay is ultra-clean, and the gold badges sparkle like the precious metal they imitate.

To give a sense of how dedicated the owner is to keeping their machine well-preserved, when the license plate was removed for the video, their first thought was on how to remedy the fading paint underneath it, despite it being an area that would never be seen once the license plate is replaced. Powering the Lexus is the 1UZ-FE 4.0-liter V8, which makes 290 hp (294 PS / 216 kW) and 300 lb-ft (407 Nm) of torque. And as is the case with any proper full-size luxury car, that power is sent to the rear wheels via a buttery-smooth automatic transmission.
