A Touch Of Darkness: Bentley Goes Black With Trim Options For The Flying Spur

Following the success of the Blackline package on the Continental GT, Bentley and its in-house coach builder, Mulliner, have introduced the same darkened package to the Flying Spur Mulliner.

Available on vehicles equipped with the V6 hybrid, V8, or W12 powertrain, the package trades the large majority of the Flying Spur‘s exterior brightwork for darker, more menacing trim. The contemporary treatment, the brand says, is now available on all Mulliner models.

Specifically, the trim treatment replaces the satin silver upper mirror caps with “Beluga Black” versions. The wing vents, meanwhile, are also blackened and highlighted with a bright Mulliner badge. The radiator grille remains black with bright edges and the lower bumper grille is also finished in black.

The Blackline trim also comes with two wheel options. The first are, it won’t surprise you to hear, black 22-inch wheels with contrasting polished pockets that offer a little visual intrigue. The second set’s wheels also span 22-inches across, but they feature self-leveling badges that are surrounded with chrome rings.

Inside, meanwhile, Bentley says the Blackline package offers no changes from normal Mulliner models. Flying Spur customers, though, were always offered countless choices in specifying the interior appointments of their sedan.

As ever, Bentley offers eight individually curated interior treatments, which are made up of a main color, secondary color, and accent color for customers to choose. With lots of exquisite materials, customers are sure to be able to craft an interior that suits them and their new darkened exterior trim.

Bentley calls the Mulliner edition the pinnacle of the Flying Spur range, and introduced the model a year ago at Monterey Car Week. It’s only fitting, then, that this new option has been introduced at the same event.
