Angela Scanlon was left speechless when her jewellery range, frkl., was showcased in Brown Thomas less than a year after it was launched.
The brand, which is completely customisable, launched in October of 2021. Now, it is part of the CREATE pop-up in the flagship store.
Now in it’s 12th year, CREATE is an annual celebration to showcase 27 up and coming designers across the country. And this year, Angela is one of the lucky few.
Taking to Instagram, she shared some shots of her collection in the shop, writing, “Another milestone for @myfrkl today-this babe (and the one in the buggy!) is growing FAST & it’s so exciting!
“I cannot tell you how cool it was to walk into @officialbrownthomas (the place where I started styling, where I presented shows for years, where I visited!) and see frkl. sitting alongside the most brilliant emerging designers-familiar faces & new friends!!”
She continued, “It was a proper punch (not pinch) me moment! Watch this space gang, we have got PLANS. Finally home after an airport dash, a lost car seat & a taxi melt down. The old “it takes a village” motto was hitting hard today. x”
Also being showcased in the annual event is Sorcha O’Raghallaigh, a Birr-born designer, whose couture has been worn by some of the world’s biggest stars including Beyoncé and Lady Gaga.
25-year-old Kildare luxury knitwear designer Gabrielle Malone is also present, her designs were spotted hanging in Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe in an episode of the Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That earlier this year.
Rachel Maguire’s Rashhiiid is also among the collection, her selection of faux-fur hats lined with duchess satin silk has already been spotted on the likes of Ariana Grande and Vanessa Hudgens.
The rest of the labels in the CREATE pop-up include linen brand Kindred of Ireland, Belfast textile inspired Éadach by Sara O’Neill, handmade and sustainable creations from Caoimhe Murphy, graphic prints by Katie Ann McGuigan, colourful Clare O’Connor and handbags from LANDA.
We have luxury scarves and throws by Caroline Duffy, knitwear by Urban Aran, long running Ireland’s Eye Knitwear, even more knits from Gabrielle Malone, graphic tees by Begley & Bowie and leisurewear by ToDyeFor by Johanna.
Elsewhere, there is Brown Thomas Designer to Watch Bursary Award 2022 winner Rebecca McCabe, funky loafers from Barbara Bennett, crossbody bags from Peelo, scarves by Tidings, colourful pieces from Nicki Hoyne and circular fashion trailblazer Aoife Lifestyle.
Of course, we have lots of jewellery collections fro Michelle Obama approved Melissa Curry, GABSLUK, FiorSó, Siadbh and Bláithín Ennis. There’s even homeware from Ciara O’Neill.
