India’s automotive industry is expected to see higher sales in most segments in July, both over the year earlier and sequentially, as indicated by building up of inventory on anticipation of higher demand ahead of the festival season.

Factory-gate shipments of carmakers are expected to have risen month-on-month in July on a large order book and ramp-up in production, according to Emkay Global.

Two-wheeler sales volumes in July are expected to rise over the previous month, as demand improves gradually and the companies increase dispatches to build-up inventory ahead of the festival season. In the commercial vehicle segment, too, the analysts are seeing higher demand.
