Cyrus Mistry, former chairman of Tata Sons and scion of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, was killed in a road accident near Mumbai on Sunday, news agencies reported.
The accident took place on the Mumbai Ahmedabad National Highway when Mistry was returning to Mumbai from Gujarat, PTI and ANI reported.
“The accident took place around 3.15 p.m., when Mistry was travelling to Mumbai from Ahmedabad. The accident took place on a bridge over the Surya river. It seems an accident,” PTI reported quoting Palghar District Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil.
The other two persons travelling with him, including the car driver, were injured. All the injured persons have been shifted to a hospital in Gujarat, he said.
