The most striking vehicle in Dacia’s stand at the 2022 Paris Motor Show might be the Manifesto concept, but the automaker also introduced the Duster Mat Edition, aiming to bring a unique style and a long list of standard equipment to the popular off-roader. The Mat Edition will be produced in limited numbers, also hoping to become a “collectible” piece.
The Dacia Duster Mat Edition is only available in the new Comet Grey shade featuring a matte effect. It is also the first matte paint from the Romanian automaker.

Besides the Comet Grey paint, the SUV comes standard with black 17-inch alloy wheels. There is also a high-gloss shark antenna and matching mirror caps with an orange ribbon in the middle – just like in the Dacia Duster Extreme SE from last year. This time however the SUV gets the new Dacia emblem, grille, and lettering on the tailgate.
Inside, we find every available option, including the 8-inch touchscreen for the Media Nav infotainment, a multi-view camera, automatic air conditioning, and a hands-free card replacing the traditional key. Don’t expect a digital instrument cluster as this feature is not available in the Duster.
Dacia might offer a range of powertrain options for the Duster in general, but the Mat Edition only comes fitted with the most powerful of the bunch. The turbocharged 1.3-liter TCe 150 petrol produces 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. The company doesn’t clarify if the SUV is FWD or AWD, but power is transmitted to the wheels exclusively through the EDC six-speed automatic.
Dacia will start taking orders for the Duster Mat Edition in the coming months via a digital event. The automaker said that the special model “will only be marketed in a few hundred copies”, meaning you will have to act quickly if you really want one. There is no word on pricing, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the Mat Edition was the most expensive Duster to date, stealing the title from the Duster Extreme SE. Mind you, Dacia is already working on the next-gen Duster that is expected to debut in 2024.
