Genesis Expands Sales Of Electrified G80 To Four More States

Genesis announced today that it has expanded sales of the Electrified G80 to four more states: Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Virginia. That means that consumers in a total of 12 states can now buy the all-electric sedan.

“We are pleased to offer our growing lineup of electric models to an expanded audience of American consumers,” said Claudia Marquez, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America. “Customers have been waiting patiently to get into a new Electrified G80 executive sedan. We are delighted to expand the availability of this model today in four more states.”

Available in just one configuration, the Electrified G80 comes with an 87.2 kWh battery pack that offers a range of up to 282 miles (454 km) on a single charge. Capable of 350 kW fast-charging, it can also be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 22 minutes.

The batteries power a pair of motors that are placed at each axle to give the car all-wheel-drive. They combine to offer drivers a total of 365 hp (272 kW / 370 PS) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque.

Broadly similar in appearance to the internal combustion G80, Genesis did see fit to modify the luxury sedan’s design slightly in order to set it apart from its ICE stablemates. That means a new G-Matrix pattern grille that incorporates a charging port, unique 19-inch wheels, and a special rear bumper.

The interior, meanwhile, is filled with eco-friendly, sustainable leather and fabrics, as well as forged wood trim throughout. Acoustic glass and a microfiber suede headliner help add to the refinement of this luxurious EV.

In terms of tech, the Electrified G80 is equipped with a 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch infotainment system, and a heads-up display. Both Android Auto and Apple Carplay are compatible with the system.

Prices for the Genesis Electrified G80 start at $80,920 ($79,825 plus $1,095 destination charge). With today’s announcement, it is now available in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.
