Hyatt Amex Offer: Spend $300, Get $60 on Canadian Hotels

[ad_1]

A new Amex Offer has appeared that allows you to earn a $60 statement credit upon spending $300 by using your American Express cards at Hyatt hotels in Canada, through September 22, 2022.

Hyatt Hotels in Canada: Spend $300, Get $60

You’ll earn a one-time $60 (CAD) statement credit upon spending $300 (CAD) after taxes at participating Hyatt hotels. The promotion is limited to Canadian properties, and the purchases must be charged in Canadian dollars.

Hyatt has a decent selection nationwide, with 19 properties in total, mostly concentrated in major metropolitan centres, along with a few properties in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley.

The offer works on cumulative purchases that total $300 or more, so there’s no requirement to meet the $300 minimum in a single purchase.

The offer ends on September 22, 2022, and has a registration cap of the first 30,000 cardholders, so it’s best to register as soon as possible to secure your eligibility.

We’ve seen this offer popping up across a wide range of American Express cards, including the Platinum Card and the Cobalt Card. If you’re playing the game in two-player mode or more, be sure to check each individual’s cards to see whether the offer has popped up and register accordingly.

Save 20% on Hyatt Hotel Stays This Summer

This offer can be an easy way to save money if you have any Hyatt hotel stays planned between now and September, especially if you’re using your summer travels to renew your Globalist status for next year.

By making a purchase of exactly $300, you’d effectively unlock a 20% discount on your purchase via the $60 statement credit.

Since the statement credit will be applied on the Amex side, you can combine it with other ongoing property-specific deals or money-saving tactics, like the Ontario Staycation Tax Credit

To put multiple Amex Offers towards good use on the same Hyatt stay, remember that you can redeem discounted Oxford Properties gift cards at the Park Hyatt Toronto.

However, note that you can pay for your stay using an existing gift card and your credit card with the Hyatt Amex Offer on it – but not simultaneously.

Therefore, I’d recommend using the Hyatt Amex Offer to pay for a $300 chunk of the hotel bill first, since it’s a limited-time deal, before using up your Oxford Properties gift card, which has no expiry date.

Scotiabank American Express Cardholders Can Register Too

As we’ve seen on previous Amex Offers, the offer is also available to primary and supplementary cardholders of the Scotiabank American Express products: the Scotiabank Gold American Express, Scotiabank American Express, and Scotiabank Platinum American Express.

The registration portal is accessible via this link.

This provides yet another way for you to maximize your savings under this promotion by registering and using the Amex Offer on both your Amex- and Scotiabank-issued Amex credit cards.

If you have a more expensive Hyatt stay lined up, you could even register multiple primary and supplementary Scotiabank cardholders for the offer and split the bill into $300 chunks to maximize the $60 statement credit each time.

Conclusion

The latest Amex Offer allows eligible cardholders to earn a $60 statement credit upon spending a minimum of $300 on cumulative purchases at Hyatt properties in Canada this summer.

Not every American Express card is targeted for this offer, so be sure to check all of your cards to see if the promotion shows up. For those with Scotiabank American Express credit cards, be sure to register via the portal link to scale your savings.

Keep in mind that the registration cap is limited to the first 30,000 cardholders, so it’s best to reigster as soon as possible, and then plan your Hyatt stays this summer and fall through September 22, 2022.
