The Indian rupee appreciated sharply against the U.S. dollar on Friday, rebounding from near-83 levels.The local currency opened 0.32% higher at 82.62 against the greenback, gaining as much as 26 paise compared to Thursday’s close.During opening trade, it pared some gains but traded 0.24% higher at 82.69.The Indian currency had hit a record low of 83.29 on Oct. 20.
