The Indian rupee fell 6 paise against the U.S. dollar at the opening of trade on Wednesday. The domestic currency opened at 79.79 against the greenback, then quickly fell to 79.86, according to Bloomberg data. It had depreciated 5 paise to close at 79.78 against the greenback on Tuesday.Despite the recent fall, the current levels of the rupee are above its record low of 80.06, which hit it on July 21.
