Polyphony Digital announced the last update of the year for the Gran Turismo 7 video game, highlighted by the addition of the Ferrari Vision GT concept, alongside four other vehicles.
The Ferrari Vision GT debuted on November 27 during the GT World Finals at Monaco, but its availability in the game will begin on Friday, December 23 – just in time for the holiday season. The design process that resulted in the single-seater hypercar with the stunning low-slung body and the hybrid V6 powertrain is detailed in a 9-minute-long video uploaded on YouTube by the official Gran Turismo channel.

Chief Designer Flavio Manzoni explains the creation of the Vision GT, together with other designers that worked on the project. We get to see sketches and renderings of the futuristic racecar, but also footage of the full-scale prototype that resides in Ferrari’s design studio. Chances are that its styling is a preview of Ferrari’s future flagship that will serve as a successor to the La Ferrari.
On paper, the first concept from Maranello that was created specifically for virtual motorsports is fitted with a twin-turbo V6 producing 1,016 hp (758 kW / 1,030 PS), aided by a trio of electric motors producing an additional 322 hp (240 kW / 326 PS). Ferrari hasn’t said how much combined power this hybrid unit produces in theory.
Besides the Ferrari hypercar, Gran Turismo gamers gain access to the 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm, the 2016 Bugatti Chiron, the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray, and the 1995 Toyota Celica GT-Four Rallycar (ST205). Finally, the Norway map has been added to the Gran Turismo Scapes.
