Maserati Ghibli Wrecked After Driver Turned In Front Of Boston Train

A blue Maserati Ghibli was absolutely destroyed in Boston after it was hit by a Green Line train near the Boston University Bridge.

The incident happened at approximately 3:00 p.m. on November 23 while the family in the Ghibli was on the way to pick up their son from Boston University to celebrate Thanksgiving. However, things quickly went awry when the driver of the Maserati turned in front of the train.

Speaking with local media, the owner of the Maserati Ghibli blamed his own “stupidity” for the crash, saying he turned directly in front of the train without seeing it. “It happened real quick, fast and quick,” he said. “[I] was making a left turn, didn’t see the train. Feeling okay now, we’re tough people.”

The Green Line train slammed into the driver’s side of the luxurious Italian sedan, completely destroying it and forcing the occupants to escape out of the passenger side. In addition to the driver’s side of the sedan being badly mangled, the rear window was also smashed and the passenger-side rear wheel has also been ruined and twisted out of position.

While the owner of the Maserati will now need a new car, he was in remarkably good spirits after the crash.

“We’re going to Randolph for Thanksgiving,” he said. “But, we’re all safe, we’re all healthy. Happy Thanksgiving everybody, we got the turkey in the trunk, we’re gonna have fun!”

Police had to suspend services on the train line while the crash was being cleared.

Fortunately, no one was injured, 7 News Boston reports. In fact, many of the occupants on the train didn’t even know they had been in an incident until the conductor spoke to them over the PA system.
