Maserati Launches New 10-Year Warranty For Its Engines And Transmissions

Maserati is looking to ditch the stereotype that Italian cars are unreliable and has announced a new 10-year warranty program for its vehicles.

The new Extra10 Warranty Program extends the coverage of powertrain components, including the engine and transmission, until the car turns 10 years old. This program is offered in addition to Maserati’s existing warranty program that is available for four or five years.

“This new service enables Maserati to provide all its customers with an innovative offer, adding value in terms of unparalleled flexibility in the automotive world,” Maserati described in a statement. “A major new feature for the brand, aimed at consolidating the value of its cars over time, guaranteeing total peace of mind by combining top performance and the driving pleasure typical of every Trident car.”

The Extra10 Warranty Program is available for all new Maserati models and will be οffered in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America starting from October 1st, 2022. A number of additional services come with the warranty, including pick-up and return services to an owner’s home and the availability of courtesy cars.

Presumably, the Extra10 Warranty Program will also be available for the brand’s forthcoming electric vehicles, although this has yet to be confirmed.

One of the most exciting new Maserati models in the pipeline is the all-electric version of the GranTurismo, dubbed the Folgore. While the automaker hasn’t confirmed technical specifications for this model, rumors suggest that it will be equipped with a tri-motor electric powertrain pumping out a remarkable 1,184 hp. That would make it easily the most powerful road-going Maserati ever produced and apparently be enough to send it to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 3 seconds and through to a 186 mph (300 km/h) top speed. An electric version of the MC20 is also in the works.
