Roger Dubuis’ Limited New Timepiece Is Inspired By The Huracan GT3 EVO2

Roger Dubuis is the official timing partner of this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed and to celebrate, has launched its new Excalibur Spider Huracan Monobalancier timepiece.

The 45mm timepiece takes visual inspiration from the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 unveiled in May. As such, the calibre’s twin barrels and 12° balanced wheel signify the movement signatures associated with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. The hexagonal shape of the caliber has also been designed to mimic the hexagonal shapes found across the Huracan and all other Lamborghini models.

The case, bezel, and crown of the Excalibur Spider Huracan Monobalancier are all made using pure white Mineral Composite Fiber from silica through the Sheet Molding Compound process. Roger Dubuis says this material is 13 percent lighter than carbon created through the same process. The rear of the timepiece is particularly special as it emulates the design of the Huracan GT3 EVO2’s wheel.

Elsewhere, Roger Dubuis has equipped the timepiece with a crown that’s inspired by the race car’s wheel nuts and a strut bar not dissimilar to the one found over the V10 engine.

The same colors of green, red, and yellow also adorn the timepiece, again mimicking the race car. This particular Excalibur Spider Huracan Monobalancier has a green rubber strap but a white rubber strap will also be available, complete with green calf leather perforated with holes to show off a number of red accents.

Roger Dubuis will limit production of the timepiece to just 88 units. It is not yet clear how much the watch will cost but a very similar timepiece inspired by the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 sold by Roger Dubuis costs an eye-watering $61,500.
