Suzuki Jimny Sierra 4Sport Limited Edition Debuts In Brazil With Off-Road Goodies

As we are waiting for the five-door Jimny to arrive, Suzuki launched a special edition of the regular three-door model. The Jimny Sierra 4Sport is an off-road-prepped version of the tiny SUV, offered in a limited number of 100 units exclusively reserved for the Brazilian market.

The 4Sport comes standard with a snorkel, a roof rack for carrying extra cargo and equipment, wide fender add-ons matching the unpainted bumpers and grille, plus rock sliders. The exterior is painted in a gray shade with 4Sport and 4X4 stickers, plus blue-painted mounting points on both ends. More importantly, it comes fitted with a set of black 15-inch alloy wheels shod in Pirelli M/T tires for added traction.

Inside, the special edition gets blue accents on the climate vents, gearknob, and leather seat upholstery matching the funky exterior, alongside 4Sport lettering on the seatbacks and dashboard. Unlike the EU-spec and UK-spec Jimny models that are exclusively available as two-seater LCVs due to the strict emission regulations, Brazil still gets the four-seater passenger version. The front seats have the ability to fold flat and create beds for adventurous owners who like to sleep in nature.

The Jimny has proven its off-road prowess but the 4Sport is a little bit better. While there are no changes on the ladder-frame chassis or the suspension, the grippy M/T tires will make a difference. Also, thanks to the snorkel, the wading depth has been increased to 600 mm (23.6 inches). The only downside is that the add-ons have reduced the approach angle to 31 degrees (from 37 degrees) and the departure angle to 40 degrees (from 49 degrees), although those figures are still quite impressive.

Under the bonnet lies the familiar naturally aspirated 1.5-liter petrol engine, producing 107 hp (79 kW / 108 PS) and 138 Nm (102 lb-ft) of torque. Interestingly, those figures are slightly increased compared to the Jimny specs in other markets where it is good for 101 hp (75 kW / 102 PS) and 130 Nm (96 lb-ft). Power is transmitted to all four wheels through a four-speed automatic gearbox and Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro all-wheel drive system.

According to the official website of Suzuki in Brazil, the Jimny Sierra 4Sport is priced at R$181,990 ($35,105), which makes it R$25,000 ($4,822) more expensive than the base-spec Jimny with the same engine. Unfortunately, the 4Sport is not available anywhere else in the world – at least at the moment – although we are sure many Suzuki fans would like a piece of it. Maybe the automaker will bring something similar with the upcoming facelift and electrification of the Jimny that is expected in 2023.
