The 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera T Is The Not-So-Rich Person’s GT3

The Porsche 911 lineup is growing for 2023 as the automakers has taken the wraps off the new 911 T.

Billed as lightweight and fun touring variant, the model slots between the 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S, and features the former model’s twin-trubo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that develops 379 hp (282 kW / 384 PS) and 331 lb-ft (448 Nm) of torque.

While the engine carries over, the 911 T has gone on a diet as it features reduced sound insulation, a lightweight seven-speed manual, and a rear seat delete. The weight saving measures don’t end there as designers also equipped with the car with thinner glass and a smaller, more compact battery. Thanks to the changes, the model tips the scales at 3,254 lbs (1,476 kg), which is 100 lbs (45 kg) less than the 911 Carrera with a PDK transmission.

The emphasis on performance don’t end there as the 911 T comes standard with the PASM Sport Suspension that reduces the ride height by 0.4 inches (10 mm). The model also boasts the Sport Chrono Package, a sport exhaust system, and a limited slip differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring.

In terms of performance, the 911 T accelerates from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.3 seconds before hitting a top speed of 181 mph (291 km/h).  Customers can also get an eight-speed PDK transmission at no-cost and it might be the way to go as it lowers the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time to 3.8 seconds.

On the styling front, there isn’t much to report as model features Agate Grey accents as well as Titanium Grey Carrera S wheels that measure 20 inches front and 21 inches rear. Bigger changes occur in the cabin as buyers will find a GT Sport steering wheel, four-way Sport Seats Plus, and dark grey accents as well as matte black and gloss black trim.

An assortment of options will be available and customers can get rear seats at no extra cost.  Porsche will also offer a Carrera T Interior Package, which adds Slate Grey or Lizard Green seat belts as well as seat stripes and contrast stitching.  The package also includes 911 logos on the headrests as well as matching floor mats.
