This Unbelievable Car Collection Is Heading To Auction

A remarkable collection of 18 supercars is heading to auction in London this weekend and includes more than $45 million worth of cars.

RM Sotheby’s is behind the sale and notes that the collection started 25 years ago when a collector purchased a Ferrari F40. At the time of purchase, the F40 was a single-owner car and as the collection grew, the owner continued to seek out pristine examples of some of the planet’s finest performance cars.

Continuing the Ferrari theme are greats like the 288 GTO, the F50, Enzo, and the LaFerrari. All of them, including the F40, are finished in Rosso Corsa and are accompanied by a trio of Ferrari droptops, namely a 550 Barchetta Pininfarina, a Superamerica, and a 599 SA Aperta, all of which are painted in Giallo.

The individual owner behind the remarkable collection is also a big Bugatti fan and is parting ways with a blue EB 110 GT, a white EB 110 Super Sport, and a newly-delivered Chiron Super Sport 300+. A pair of Lamborghinis are also crossing the auction block, namely a Miura and a Countach LP 5000 S.

Then we come to the two Jaguars. The first is a rare XJR-15, one of just 53 examples in existence, and the first production car to use a carbon fiber monocoque. A bright orange XJ 220 S is also featured and is the sole example produced in this color, showing just 4,822 km (2,996 miles) on the clock. It is expected to sell for between £850,000 ($954,000) and £1,100,000 ($1.23 million).

Rounding out the collection is a trio of extremely desirable Group B rally cars, namely a Lancia 037, an Audi Sport quattro S1 E2, and a Lancia Delta S4. The Delta S4 being sold is particularly desirable and thought to be the most valuable in existence. It could sell for as much as £2,250,000 ($2.52 million).
