Toyota Sequoia Looks To Conquer SEMA As Well As The Great Outdoors

The Toyota Sequoia has been redesigned for the first time in 15 years and the company is celebrating by showcasing an assortment of different builds at SEMA.

Starting with the Ultimate Overlanding Sequoia, the model is based on the Sequoia Limited TRD Off-Road and features a rugged front bumper, rock sliders, and a dual swingout rear bumper that holds a spare tire as well as a Hi-Lift jack and jerry cans.

The SUV also sports auxiliary lights, a Warn winch, CBI Offroad skid plates, and a Prinsu roof rack that holds an Autohome Airlander Plus rooftop tent. Rounding out the highlights are a refrigerator/freezer, onboard air, and bronze wheels wrapped in 34 inch Toyo Open Country M/T tires.

To tackle tough terrain, the Sequoia has been outfitted with a three-inch lift as well as ToyTec coilovers, shocks, and springs. The model also sports Camburg upper control arms and billet aluminum rear trailing arms.

Sequoia TRD Pro Adventurer

The Westcott Designs Sequoia TRD Pro Adventurer is similar as it features a lift with Camburg Racing components as well as plenty of auxiliary lights. The SUV has also been outfitted with rock sliders, billet D-rings, and a rear ladder that provides access to a roof top tent.

Other highlights include a bike rack and a hitch-mounted rack that holds a vintage Kawasaki Jet Ski. The model also sports 17-inch Innov8 Racing wheels with Nitto Recon Grapplers A/T tires.

Expedition Overland Sequoia

This Sequoia comes from Expedition Overland, and is nicknamed Simba. It looks tamer than the other builds, but it features an Icon Vehicle Dynamics 3.0 CDEV suspension and 18-inch wheels wrapped in General Grabber X3 tires.

Simba also sports a custom front bumper with an integrated Warn winch. Elsewhere, there are skid plates, rock sliders, and a steel rear bumper with dual swingouts that hold a spare tire as well as recovery boards. Other upgrades include a light bar, a roof top tent, and an iCOM Ham radio.

Expedition Overland Tundra

While the Sequoia took center stage, trucks made an appearance in the form of the Expedition Overland Tundra known as Orion. It features a rugged front bumper, a Warn winch, skid plates, and rock sliders.

They’re joined by auxiliary lights and an Alu-Cab canopy camper system with a Webasto Evo 40 heating system. Since the Tundra will serve as a home away from home, there’s also a 13.2 gallon (50 liters) water tank, a refrigerator, and two 200-watt solar panels.

The model also sports an ICON Vehicle Dynamics suspension with 2.5 Series extended travel coilover shocks up front and 2.5 Series Omega bypass shocks out back. They’re joined by 17-inch wheels wrapped in General Grabber X3 tires.
