What Car Are You Sick And Tired Of Seeing In Your Area All The Time?

I grew up in what you could very much describe as a GM town. With a plant churning out GM vehicles nearby, that was the air I breathed as a kid. I didn’t really realize that, in other towns, every second car isn’t necessarily a Chevy or a Pontiac.

In fact, I distinctly remember a time between about 2000 and 2010 when it seemed like every one of my neighbors owned a Pontiac Montana. The minivan was so prevalent that I distinctly remember thinking that the sight of a Chevy Venture amounted to the addition of a little spice.

The first time I saw a Honda Odyssey or a Toyota Sienna, my mind was blown by the wild differences in design. And by the time I started paying attention to vehicles in other towns and cities, I realized how dull it was to be constantly surrounded by the Pontiac Montana.

Fortunately, the concentration of GM isn’t always terrible, because when the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro first came out, there were tons of them driving around. Even, then, though, I did eventually get bored of seeing it, even despite its recent star turn in the Transformers movies.

The prevalence of particular vehicles remains, however, an interesting insight into the regionality that still dominates our lives. What I might think of as common – a Camaro or a Montana – might be wildly uncommon to someone in another part of the world.

So, what’s the car that’s all too common in your area? Are you from the Pacific Northwest and will scream if you see another Subaru with a bumper sticker about dogs on it? Are you from the South and sick of seeing pickups? Are you from Wolfsburg and quietly a Mercedes fan who hates the Golf?

Let us know what car has reached market saturation and, indeed, overabundance in your state, city, or country.
