WhatsApp India Head Abhijit Bose and Meta India Public Policy Director Rajiv Aggarwal have resigned, days after Meta India’s Ajit Mohan quit.
The social media company confirmed the exits in a statement on Tuesday evening.
Meta, formerly known as Facebook and the parent company of WhatsApp and Instagram, said the two top exits “are completely unrelated to the recent news cycles”.
Shivnath Thukral, the director of WhatsApp Public Policy in India, has been appointed as director of public policy for Meta India. He will define and lead important policy development initiatives across Meta apps—Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp—in India.
Bose was the first country head for WhatsApp in India. “His entrepreneurial drive helped our team deliver new services that have benefited millions of people and businesses,” said Will Cathcart, head of WhatsApp.
Aggarwal resigned to pursue another opportunity, confirmed Manish Chopra, director, [partnerships, India – Meta.
Earlier this month, Mohan had resigned as head of Meta Platforms Inc. in India to join Snap as head of the Asia Pacific region.
Meta is laying off about 13% or more than 11,000 of its employees worldwide in an attempt to cut costs.
